Apply to the Indigenous Agriculture Relationship Development Program

The latest intake for the Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership (Sustainable CAP) Indigenous Agriculture Relationship Development program is now accepting applications. This program made all the difference for youth with the Manitoba-based Niriqatiginnga Arts, Youth and Media Team as it grows from a small, grassroots project into a local and regional non-profit organization and capacity building program.

The program works to create opportunities for Inuit, First Nations and Metis youth. The program staff at Manitoba Agriculture and the Sustainable CAP program are incredibly helpful and able to answer any questions you might have, so reach out and connect with them!

Thanks to the S-CAP program, Niriqatiginnga was able to engage in knowledge sharing and skills training across the arts, cultural and food sectors. The program helped them strengthened relationships with long-time collaborators from universities like the University of Minnesota Duluth and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, the University of the Arctic and University of Victoria Community-Based Research Lab. Each semester, the groups choose a different subject to focus on and this youth ear it was about experiential and biophilic design methodologies and crating the technological foundations for what will become their own food marketplace.

Even if all you have is an idea, they can help you work it out and connect with other groups too. We really stress how this program helped our group and we encourage others to check out the program.
